Our ability as a landscape company stretches beyond planting flowers and trees to make a site work well and also making it fit into the context of the area. Sustainable Design:
Sustainability is not just a way of life but more a culture shift to a way of living. This term has emerged as a guide to protecting the future of our future generations and our society. Sustainability through Landscape Architecture is a way to create an environment in which there is limited to no resources used in keeping the project alive and fresh. This is achieved by adapting native and semi-native materials that are adapted to this region into the design and creating an environment that reflects more of the native surrounding rather than creating something of ornamental theory. In our time of dropping water tables and expanding arid desertification, we need to take steps into creating landscapes that fit into the environment and not take so much away from the environment. That is where KTLA,LLP fits in, is we are taking steps into reducing the amount of resources used by our landscapes and creating a healthier environment for all creates, animal and man, to enjoy for many generations to come.
Natural Rock Walls and Boulder Placement:
We use natural rock from local quarries to build our natural rock retaining walls. we use local rock from local suppliers because we do not believe that shipping in rocks from 300+ miles from our site is a very sustainable practice. We have more than enough different types of rock from here in the northwest to fit any project of this region. Also another aspect of using local rock is the simple fact that other rock types just won't look right in this area. Our boulder placement is inspired by how the rocks are natural sitting in the ground from where they are retrieved. We try to set them back in the ground how they are retireved so the rock looks as natural as possible in the site. We also surround our rocks with native plantings to give it a more native feel.
Block Walls:
Block walls, or Keystone walls are a nice way to give a clean look to a bed or edge of a project. The block is very strong and will last for many years. The block is supplied by local companies and is produced in
Bed Design and Curbing:
KTLA,LLP prides itself in being able to use design principles to create a landscape layout that is both functional and beautiful. We do this through a process of client examination and echo what the client wants and needs into their landscape. We use materials that will fit the client’s lifestyle and push it one step further in creating a more sustainable design. We highly recommend using curbing in our designs because of the fact it creates a very clean edge and also last a long time. Curbing can come in many different designs and color and we will help to choose the right design for you and your landscape.
Patios:
We can create residential patios out of many different types of materials. We use various different types of flagstone to create a more rugged look that fits the customer’s needs and uses. We also use concrete pavers for a cleaner, more professional look to the patio. Pavers are a great way to go for a patio because they last a long time and are relatively no maintenance. They come in many different colors and shapes and can be fit to any project. All of our patios whether it be flagstone, or pavers are sand set and this is for ease installation, maintenance and, sand set last longer than an overlay type setting. Our products come from local suppliers such as Basalite and International Stone.
Water Features:
KTLA,LLP uses many different techniques and materials to create a water feature you will enjoy. We can create the dream water feature you desire from a Victorian style water garden to a natural stream through your landscape. If you can dream it, we can create it.
